This initiative will enhance professional visibility while also creating an accessible resource for the public to learn about mental health from credible voices. \nProposal for WMHA Online Counselling Platform\nMembers discussed the creation of a structured tele-counselling service\, designed to provide therapy sessions online in a regulated\, ethical\, and transparent manner. This platform aims to make professional mental health support more accessible and organized. \nSyona Café as a Community Venue\nThe meeting explored how Syona Café can serve as a hub for community-based mental health and wellness activities. Proposed events included: \n\nArt\, music\, and movement therapy sessions\nMindfulness circles and reading groups\nFilm screenings and cultural evenings\nNetworking opportunities for members\n\nMember Collaborations and Future Planning\nA detailed discussion was held on member-led collaborations\, revenue-sharing models\, and the quarterly activity calendar. Members emphasized the importance of inclusivity\, sustainability\, and innovative approaches to mental health advocacy. \nInsights from the Chair\n“When we talk about gender and mental health\, men’s struggles are often silenced. Societal expectations push them into quiet suffering\, and we must create safe spaces where they too can express vulnerability without judgment.” \nSharing his vision\, Ritesh Choudhary\, Founder of WMHA\, reminded us: \n“A nation’s true progress lies not only in its GDP but in the well-being of its people. This event placed a spotlight on the critical link between mental health and employee productivity\, stressing the importance of mental well-being in the workplace. It also highlighted the role of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) in supporting employees\, helping them manage personal and professional challenges to boost overall productivity. \n   \nThe event featured a distinguished lineup of guests\, including Mr. Sanjib Das\, CEO of George Telegraph Training Institute; Dr. Vivek Agarwala\, oncologist at Narayana Health; Ms. Rachna Mimani\, psychologist and founder of Peacestogether; Dr. Soumen Karmakar\, psychiatrist at Peerless Hospital; and Mr. Omkar Bhattacharya\, Deputy General Manager at CESC. With support from George Telegraph Training Institute and Narayana Health\, the event underscored the collaborative effort needed to prioritize mental health in corporate environments. \n  \nA key highlight of the event was the insightful panel discussion\, moderated by Mr. Sukreet Shome\, a KPMG-certified instructional design practitioner and L&D consultant. As the moderator and host of the event\, Mr. Shome brought expertise and depth to the conversation\, ensuring a rich dialogue on the ways mental health initiatives can drive productivity in the workplace. His moderation helped steer the panel towards actionable insights\, making his role a central focus of the event’s success. \n  \nThe event began with a symbolic *Tree of Life* watering ceremony\, symbolizing growth and well-being. Following this\, WMHA founder Mr. Ritesh Choudhary presented mementos and the *Fabric of Honour* to the dignitaries. The keynote address by Ms. Rachna Mimani captivated the audience\, including an interactive activity that illustrated the importance of self-care in daily work life. \n \nDuring the panel discussion\, Mr. Sanjib Das emphasized the need to foster a work culture where employees feel safe discussing mental health concerns openly. Dr. Vivek Agarwala proposed introducing annual mental health check-ups\, a suggestion supported by Ms. Rachna Mimani\, who advocated for integrating mental health check-ups with routine health assessments. Ms. Mimani also highlighted the importance of addressing the unique mental health needs of Gen Z employees. DESCRIPTION:On June 8\, 2024\, the MIND HELP – initiative of World Mental Healthcare Association\, in collaboration with the XLRI Alumni Association Kolkata Chapter\, hosted an impactful workshop at ITC Royal Bengal titled “Breaking the Silence: Conversations on Loneliness in the Corporate World.” \n \n🎤 The event kicked off with insightful remarks from Mr. Arnab Chakraborty\, Vice President of Human Resources CESC and President of the XLRI Alumni Association Kolkata\, emphasizing the critical importance of mental health in corporate environments. \n         \n🗣️ Mr. Sumit Goswami\, Consulting Partner at Tech Mahindra and Mentor of WMHA\, provided an enlightening introduction\, highlighting the essential role of mental well-being in the productivity and happiness of corporate employees. \n                    \n🌟 Leading the main session\, Ms. Molly Thambi\, Joint Secretary at ANTARA Psychiatric Hospital and a distinguished psychologist\, shared invaluable insights and practical strategies to combat loneliness in the workplace. Her expertise equipped attendees with effective tools for fostering a more supportive and inclusive corporate culture. \n    \n🤝 Concluding the event\, Mr. Sukreet Shome extended an invitation to all attendees to become MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATES with the World Mental Healthcare Association. This role encourages participants to actively support and advocate for improved mental well-being within their professional spheres. \n     \n💬 This workshop not only shed light on the pressing issue of loneliness in the corporate world but also underscored the collaborative efforts necessary to cultivate healthier work environments. There were 20 participants\, who are holding senior management roles in the company who attended the workshop WELL BEING AT WORKPLACE. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMr Sukreet Shome and Dr Soubhagya Lakshmi Dutt designed and conducted the training session\, who are members of WMHA. We are thankful to Mr Sanjib Das\, Executive Director\, GTTI for his unrelenting support and encouragement for such path-breaking organisational training program.
